Black Book
Coming out in October of 2025, BLACK BOOK is Matthew Lee and the Standbys' debut original album. A concept within itself; each song acts as a love letter to a younger version of our narrator, who finds themself rambling through their understanding of love, loss and self-identity. The album blends indie rock, alternative and pop punk to create a nostalgic, familiar world to fall back into. Exploring themes of connection, heartbreak, addiction, and resilience, BLACK BOOK acts as a way to tie up loose ends, and to finally close those doors that may have been left cracked open all those years ago.

Matthew Lee and the Standbys proudly announce Another Round - a musical theatre/rock fusion album. What began as a cabaret project in 2016 has exploded into a full production; gathering the most incredible talents and innovative producers in New York City. Another Round fuses folk, indie, and pop-punk to create a unique experience for fans of musical theatre and rock music.
BUSKING BROADWAY
Busking Broadway was released on February 9, 2017; a completely DIY release completed out of boredom from losing a job and the love of musical theatre. This is the demo that started the entire project - take a listen to some completely original takes on some musical theatre favorites!
